FAQ Hana Baby Wrap
If bamboo is such a great fabric, why is Hana Baby Wrap made of bamboo blended with organic cotton?
Blending organic cotton into bamboo fabric makes the fabric more stable than 100% bamboo, which is an important characteristic for a baby carrier. Our baby wrap is made of 68% bamboo, 28% organic cotton and 4% elastane, still maintaining all the characteristics of bamboo fabric, while adding the stability of cotton to it.
Can bamboo fabric be machine washed and tumble dried?
Yes, we recommend washing it on 40 degrees Celcius. Tumble dry low. Wash separately before use.
How is it possible that Hana Baby Wrap is thinner and cooler than - yet as supportive as a regular cotton-elastane wrap?
Bamboo fabric has a higher tensile strength than cotton and is therefore stronger than cotton.
What makes Hana Baby Wrap more comfortable than other slings and baby carriers?
Hana Baby Wrap's design and material both contribute to its comfort. Your baby's weight is evenly distributed over the whole back and shoulders, in contrast to many other baby carriers that have thin straps that dig into the shoulders. Bamboo fabric is more breathable and absorbent than cotton, making it very comfortable to wear.
Is my newborn too small for Hana Baby Wrap?
No, no newborn, or even a premature baby is too small for Hana Baby Wrap. In fact, it is ideal for the very little ones as it holds them close and snug to the wearer, while it ensures correct support. Since no newborn is too small, Hana Baby Wrap is also ideal to use for 'Kangaroo Care'.
Is Hana Baby Wrap suitable for 'Kangaroo Care'?
Yes, it is. Hana Baby Wrap is a great way to carry your premature baby skin to skin. Simply use our sling to wrap your baby against your bare chest, while he or she is wearing a nappy only. Keep your baby warm with an additional blanked if necessary.
Can I breastfeed discreetly with Hana Baby Wrap?
Yes, breastfeeding discreetly with our wrap sling is easy, just hold your baby in your arms, and slide the head underneath one of the X-straps while feeding.
It looks very complicated to use. Will I master tying it?
Some may need to practice tying the wrap a couple of times, say 2 or 3 times, but it becomes second nature pretty quickly, just like tying a shoe lace.
How does Hana Baby Wrap differ from other wrap carriers on the market?
Although other wrap carriers are similar in design, the main difference is the material. Most wrap carriers are made of cotton, either with or without elastane. Hana Baby Wrap is made of bamboo fabric blended with organic cotton and a touch of elastane. Having bamboo fabric as the main player, Hana Baby Wrap is much more breathable, cooler and softer than regular cotton wrap carriers, making it more comfortable. Other advantages of bamboo are that
- it is naturally antibacterial, whereas bacteria readily grow in cotton
- it is hypoallergenic
- it has a natural UV filter
- it is one of the most sustainable fabrics available, and therefore all our wraps are sustainable.
Where are the Hana Baby Wraps produced and are the dyes used toxin free?
Our wraps are ethically produced in India and all dyes used are free of toxins.
